Kari Millan

ECEt²OK Chair

Kari Millan began her career in education with Broken Arrow Public Schools in 1999, working as a fifth grade teacher at Southside Elementary School. In 2001, Kari joined TPS, teaching fifth grade at Bell Elementary School, also serving as team lead for many years and being named Teacher Of The Year in 2012. Kari has a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Northeastern State University and graduated with a masters degree in School Administration from The University of Oklahoma in 2016. Kari has served on many leadership committees with Tulsa Public Schools, and is a member of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation Teacher Advisory Council. She has also served as a Faculty Advisor for four years with Teach For America. Kari is currently serving on the TPS iPD Team, the TPS Professional Learning Leadership Team, and the new TPS Career Pathways Team. In 2004, Kari was awarded the Red Cross Everyday Hero award for her Student Council's efforts in raising money for tsunami survivors in Thailand. In the spring of 2015, Kari wrote a grant to bring Elevating and Celebrating Effective Teaching and Teachers - ECET², to Tulsa, OK for Northeast Oklahoma educators. She reapplied in the fall of 2016 and was awarded the opportunity to once again bring ECET²OK to Tulsa in the spring of 2017.

Misty Gerber

ECEt²OK Chair

Misty Gerber is a mother, educator, presenter and instructor who is currently serving as a Math Instructional Coach for Tulsa Public Schools. She received her B.S from Missouri State University and her M. Ed. from Northeastern State University. She is currently pursuing her Ph. D in Curriculum Studies from Oklahoma State University. Throughout her 10-year tenure with Tulsa Public Schools, Misty has served as a teacher to 4th – 6th grade students, a Staff Development Teacher and now an Instructional Coach. She has also worked as a curriculum writer, Faculty Adviser for Teach for America, professional development presenter and team leader. In addition to her service to Tulsa Public School, Misty has also served as an Instructor with Oklahoma State University and greatly enjoys teaching at the university level

LeeAnne Pepper

ECEt²OK Chair of Technology/Audio Visual Elements

LeeAnne Pepper, a Tulsa native, is currently the Elementary Mathematics and Instructional Technology Academic Coordinator with Tulsa Public Schools.  LeeAnne obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from the University of Tulsa in 2006 and began her career teaching at Barnard Elementary.  She also taught fifth grade mathematics and science at Addams Elementary, KIPP Tulsa, and Bell Elementary.  In May of 2014, she became an instructional coach, specializing in mathematics and technology.  LeeAnne graduated from Oklahoma State University with her Master’s in Educational Technology in 2011.  LeeAnne is a member of the OKMath/OKSci Leadership Class 2 and serves on the Governing Committee for the Oklahoma Math Alliance.  She played softball for the University of Tulsa and remains active by coaching softball for area youth leagues.

Christy Swanson

Christy Swanson is the Pre-K teacher at Osage Hills School in Bartlesville, OK. This is her 10th year teaching pre-k and kindergarten in Oklahoma public schools. She continually sets high expectations for her students, and finds that they surpass those expectations. Teaching is her PASSION!

Mindy Englett

ECEt²OK Chair of evaluations & Regristration

Mindy Englett is a mother, educator, presenter and instructor who is currently serving as the MSP grant program manager and elementary math curriculum specialist for Osage County Interlocal Cooperative. Mindy is a graduate of Bacone College where she obtained her Bachelor of Arts in early-childhood education and is currently completing her masters degree in teaching, learning, and leadership with a specialization in elementary mathematics at Oklahoma State University. This is Mindy’s first year with Osage County Interlocal Cooperative. Prior to joining OCIC Mindy was an instructional coach for Tulsa Public Schools, taught 2nd-4th grades at Osage Hills Elementary in Bartlesville, OK, and 3rd-8th grades at Avant Elementary in Avant, OK. She has also worked as a professional development presenter, curriculum reviewer, and team leader.

Cindy Johnson

Cindy Johnson has a Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics Education and a Master's Degree in Special Education for Regular Classroom Teachers. In 2010, she achieve National Board Certification in Adolescence/Young Adult Mathematics. She currently teaches Mathematics at Union High School, where she is a department lead teachers.

Stephanie Fadness

ECEt²OK CO-Chair of BreakOut Sessions

Stephanie Fadness is a mentor, educator, and coach who is currently teaching 5th grade at Hawthorne Elementary School in North Tulsa. She has taught 5th grade at Hawthorne for Tulsa Public Schools for the past three school years. In her short time with TPS and Hawthorne, she has served as the 5th/6th grade team lead, a faculty adviser, and presenter for professional development both at the school and district levels. Stephanie is currently working to obtain her M. Ed. in Educational Administration from the University of Concordia – Nebraska.
